He has significant experience in the financial services sector

Career
In 1981 Dominic became a Registered Tax Agent, after completing
his first degree at Monash
University and shortly thereafter became a self-employed
representative of the T&G Mutual Life
Society, specializing in Superannuation.
He subsequently became licensed as a Dealer’s Representative of
Bondmark Investment
Services Pty Ltd and National Mutual Securities Ltd., before
becoming a Senior Adviser at
Deutsche Bank Financial Planning (formerly Bain & Company) from
February 1988.
In November 1996 he became the Manager, Financial Planning for
HSBC James Capel
(Victoria) until February 1999 when he established Collins House
Financial Services Pty Ltd in
a joint venture with 17 partners of EL & C Baillieu Stockbroking
Ltd.
Dominic was awarded Money Management Magazine’s Financial Planner
of the Year Award
in December 2000 and in 2008 he was awarded Life Membership of
the FPA in recognition of
his many years of service to the Financial Planning Profession.
In 2014 Dominic established the AFSL company Collins House
Private Wealth Pty Ltd where
he is currently the Managing Director and Responsible Officer.
He is also the Managing Director of Collins House Advisory Pty
Ltd, Independent Financial
Advisors & Chartered Accountants, and Collins House Online
Investment Services Pty Ltd,
which provides Online General Investment Advice.
Professional / Personal Interests
Dominic is a well known Media Commentator on Financial Planning &
Investment matters and since
1999 has regularly appeared on Melbourne’s number one Radio
Station 3AW.
He authored the easy to read Finance Book “How to Grow, Manage
and Protect your Wealth” –
Wilkinson Publishing 2007.
In 2012 Dominic commenced presenting the Australian Business
Report, on 3AW’s Award Winning
Breakfast Program weekday mornings at 6.35am for more than a
decade, and today regularly
features on 3AW’s Weekend Breakfast Program where he takes
listeners’ questions and provides
common sense guidance in an easy to understand style.
He is a member and passionate lifelong supporter of the
Collingwood Football Club, a member of the
Melbourne Cricket Club, the Victorian Racing Club, the
Australian Club, the Royal Automotive Club of
Victoria, and the Maserati Owners Club of Australia.
Dominic has been retained by Forensic Accountants, Legal Firms,
and the Australian Securities and
Investment Commission as an ExpertWitness in Financial Planning
and Investment Advice matters,
for over a decade.
